1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using AiHive ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.

AiHive is a platform designed for indie hackers, tech founders, and makers to showcase their products, projects, revenue, and professional profiles in one beautiful page.

2. Account Registration

Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use AiHive
• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• One account per person - multiple accounts for abuse are prohibited

Account Security

• You are responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• We recommend using a strong, unique password
• Do not share your account credentials with others

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You May:

• ✅ Create a professional profile showcasing your products and projects
• ✅ Display accurate revenue numbers and metrics
• ✅ Link to your legitimate products, social media, and websites
• ✅ Embed your tech stack and professional information
• ✅ Use analytics to track your profile performance

You May NOT:

• ❌ Post illegal, harmful, threatening, or abusive content
• ❌ Impersonate others or create fake profiles
• ❌ Use the platform for spam, phishing, or scams
• ❌ Scrape, copy, or steal other users' data
• ❌ Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
• ❌ Attempt to hack, attack, or disrupt the service
• ❌ Use automated bots to inflate views or clicks
• ❌ Post sexually explicit, hateful, or discriminatory content
• ❌ Violate intellectual property rights of others
• ❌ Use AiHive for affiliate spam or pyramid schemes

4. Content & Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain all rights to your content. When you post content on AiHive:

• You own your profile data, product descriptions, images, and information
• You grant us a license to display your content on the platform
• You can delete your content and account at any time
• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to the content you upload

Our Content

The AiHive platform, design, code, and features are protected by intellectual property laws:

• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our platform code
• The AiHive name, logo, and branding are our trademarks
• Open-source components are licensed separately (see GitHub)

5. Pricing & Payment

Free Plan

AiHive is currently free forever for all users, including:

• Unlimited profile views
• Unlimited products and projects
• Analytics and insights
• Custom @handle
• Social links and tech stack

Future Premium Features (Optional)

We may introduce optional paid features in the future, such as:

• Custom domains (yourname.com)
• Advanced analytics and insights
• Priority support
• Custom themes and branding

Important: If paid features are introduced, the core free plan will always remain free. No surprises.

6. Privacy & Data Protection

7. Handle & Username Policy

Your @handle is unique and visible to everyone:

• Handles are first-come, first-served
• Handles must be 3-30 characters (letters, numbers, underscores)
• We reserve the right to reclaim handles used for impersonation or abuse
• Inactive accounts (no login for 2+ years) may have handles released
• You can change your handle once every 30 days

8. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime, but:

• The service is provided "as is" without guarantees
• We may perform maintenance with or without notice
• We're not liable for downtime or data loss (please backup important data)
• We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice

9. Termination

You Can:

• Delete your account anytime from your dashboard
• All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• Export your data before deletion (feature coming soon)

We May:

Suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abuse, harassment, or illegal activity
• Use the platform for spam or scams
• Attempt to hack or disrupt the service

We'll provide notice when possible, but reserve the right to terminate immediately for serious violations.

10. Disclaimers & Limitations

No Warranties

AiHive is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including:

• No guarantee of uninterrupted service
• No guarantee of error-free operation
• No guarantee that data will be secure from breaches

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to $100 or the amount you paid us (currently $0)
• You use the service at your own risk

External Links

AiHive allows you to link to external websites and products. We're not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of external sites you link to.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold AiHive harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, violation of these terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first to resolve it informally. If we can't resolve it, disputes will be governed by the laws of the United States and the state of California.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and AiHive
• Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect
• No Waiver: Failure to enforce a provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later
• Assignment: You may not transfer your rights; we may transfer ours with notice
